Short Writing Assignment from Lifespan Development in Context
Reflection: This is a short writing assignment relating lyrics of two songs to concepts in psychology regarding adolescents. This type of writing required me to identify, define, and cite concepts from a textbook but also just use short phrases from the lyrics to describe sections of the songs. This means I could incorporate some more formal phrases but also include more casual sections. Additionally, when writing this type of essay, the more formal organization of introduction, body, and conclusion. I included a short introduction to identify the songs and explain the general idea of my connections but then I went right into the body and, at the end, only a quick sentence or two was needed to wrap up my idea. For Psychology, the content of the essay is much more important than the grammatical and formal aspects of writing for English.
